Last spring, PIN announced its goal to raise $850,000 through its capital campaign, The Campaign for Possibilities, with some of the money going to fund the move from the cramped headquarters on North Sandusky Street to a new 7,200-square-foot location at 138 Johnson Drive.
The AEP donation brought the total raised to $507,000, PIN announced at a Friday afternoon ceremony on the southwest corner of William and Sandusky streets.
When collected, the $850,000 will retire the debt on the new location, fund the necessary retrofits to the building, and support building maintenance and repair, said Kevin Crowley, PIN executive director.
"We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the AEP Foundation," Crowley said.
"This gift validates everything we intend to accomplish with our new location. On behalf of all of us at PIN, I thank the foundation for its support and the vote of confidence in us that it signifies."
"Ohio has been particularly clobbered by this economy, and Delaware County has not been immune to its impact," said Joe Hamrock, president and chief operating officer of AEP Ohio. "The AEP Foundation has pledged $150,000 so that PIN can concentrate on providing essential services to its growing clientele. We hope this pledge will help them breathe a bit easier about the financial burden they took on, so that they could serve the spiraling needs of the people of Delaware County from a larger, more efficient location."
