Food Pantry

PIN’s Food Insecurity Programs, including the Food Pantry, continue to grow and offer a wide variety of fresh and non-perishable groceries to our neighbors in Delaware County. In fact, we are the largest Food Pantry in the County and serve up to 400 families each week. In 2022, we provided more than 418,000 meals to our neighbors.

When clients arrive, they receive what we call a four-day “shop” based on family size to provide three meals for each person for four days. Each household can get groceries once per week, in addition to our monthly Produce Market.

How to Access Our Pantry: Come during posted pantry hours (below). No appointment is necessary! Simply drive up with your photo ID ready, have a valid Delaware Country address, and a PIN volunteer will be out to assist you. You may visit our pantry one time per week.

Seniors Utilizing CFSP (“Commodity Box”) at PIN: There is an exciting new opportunity for our clients thanks to our friends at DoorDash through Project DASH. This new delivery service is available only to clients who are enrolled in the CFSP program, and who live within a 10-mile radius of our warehouse at 138 Johnson Drive. If you are a CSFP box recipient, click here for the DoorDash application. If you are interested in the CSFP box program and are 60+ and live in Delaware County, you can pick up an application at our location on Johnson Drive. Your application will be reviewed to assure you meet the financial requirements of the program.

Food Pantry Donors: In order to promote a healthier diet for all of our Delaware County neighbors, please consider donating items that are whole grain products, or which are low sodium, low fat, or reduced sugar. Check out our Healthy Food Donation List. Donations can be dropped off at our warehouse during regular operating hours. Thank you for your generosity and helping our neighbors in their time of need!

PLEASE NOTE: We have changed the format of our Food Pantry operations. All groceries are prepacked by PIN volunteers and served in a drive-thru format. Orders may be picked up Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during operating hours. If you need to have a person other than yourself pick up your groceries, you must complete our Proxy Form. We are unable to provide groceries on your behalf to anyone not listed as your proxy, and the form must be updated annually.

PIN’s “Most Wanted”

Each quarter, our Food Pantry will list different items that are most needed. These are items we are running low on or are not in stock at the food bank. Many are staples in the pantry and are a versatile way for many clients to maintain a well-rounded, nutritious diet.

This quarter, our Food Pantry is in particular need of:

  • Peanut butter and jelly

  • Canned soups and stews

  • Packaged sides such as macaroni and cheese, boxed potatoes, stuffing, etc.

  • Laundry detergent

And did you know that we recently adopted Delaware City Schools’ Weekend Backpack program? Each Friday during the school year, food for meals and snacks are provided for hundreds of local students. Our Amazon Wishlist has a variety of items that will help this program too!

Just click this link to our wishlist and your donation can be anonymously shipped directly to our warehouse!
