Food Insecurity Programs

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry has been assisting Delaware County residents for more than four decades!

Nutritious food packages are provided to households up to once a week. These food packages are sized for the family being served and have been designed to comply with the USDA nutritional guidelines. Special dietary needs or restrictions are addressed as needed; just alert the volunteer assisting you to any particular need.

Produce Markets

Produce Markets are designed to provide fresh food to individuals and families in need. The Mid-Ohio Food Bank supplies all of the produce distributed at the Market and most of what is offered is fruits and vegetables but may also include bread and dairy items. Each Market can serve up to 300 families and eligibility is set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. After each event is completed, any remaining produce is distributed to PIN food pantry clients and other MOFB Partner Agencies as needed.

Mobile Markets

New in 2021, our Mobile Markets take PIN on the road to remote and underserved areas of Delaware County. Thanks to generous grants from our partners, in 2023 we are bringing in a new refrigerated van to bring more fresh, nutritious options. The schedule will be available as the program is scheduled throughout the year. Keep an eye on our social media pages!

Holiday Clearing House

Our Holiday Clearing House program provides new toys, clothing, gift certificates, gifts and food to Delaware County families with children and senior/disabled homebound residents.

In 2022, this annual, community program celebrated its 68th anniversary of serving the residents of Delaware County! 969 local children took part in the program along with their families. Its success is attributed to the hundreds of people who donate the food and gifts and volunteer their time each year to support their community.

Utility Assistance

A Delaware County resident who seeks financial assistance with a utility bill must first complete the online application. Due to the nature of this program, only those with a utility shutoff notice are eligible. Assistance through this program is paid directly to the service provider in the client’s name, preventing shutoffs and keeping light, heat, and water turned on.

School Shoes Program

Our School Shoes Program provides children with funding for a new pair of shoes to begin the new school year. The program is available to children of Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) families who reside in Delaware County and attend school in the County. The program is also available to children attending the LEADS Head Start program.
