School Shoes Program

The 2023 School Shoes Program has ended. No additional School Shoe vouchers are available at this time.

The School Shoes program is one of PIN’s signature annual programs, supporting children attending school in Delaware County between the ages of 4-18. In 2022, 500 local students received $40 vouchers to help supply them with a pair of shoes for the school year.

The program began in 1999 when a group of churches in Delaware County collected money through various special offerings. Donations that first year allowed PIN to purchase several dozen pairs of shoes at retail price from a local store. The program has grown from that few dozen to funding for 671 pairs in 2023.

When a child can go to school prepared with a new pair of shoes, it increases his/her chances for success.  Parents have told us numerous times that if it weren’t for this program, their child would have gone without this critical “step” to start the year off right.

An application and approval are required for School Shoes participants; please read below for program qualifications. Distribution of School Shoe vouchers will take place jointly with the United Way’s Supplies for Scholars. We encourage you to register for the United Way’s program as well, which provides essential school items for the year. Supplies for Scholars is a separate program and requires a separate registration from PIN’s School Shoes.

PIN’s goal is to maintain and increase our reach and level of impact on local students and their families. To help this program and support our students in the coming years, you can visit our donation page to commit a gift today.
